How our numbers, previews and reviews are produced, checked and corrected.

Version 1.0 · Last updated October 16, 2026

1.The short version

Our probabilities come from mathematical and statistical methods applied to football data. Our match previews and reviews are drafted with the help of automated writing software from our own match data, checked automatically against that data, and then reviewed and approved by a member of our editorial team before they are published. We correct mistakes openly, and no bookmaker pays us or influences what we publish.

2.Who is responsible

The FootballEdge editorial team is responsible for everything published on footballedge.io, including the articles signed “FootballEdge Editorial”. The person responsible for content is named in our Imprint.

3.How our numbers are produced

  • Probabilities, expected goals and value bets are calculated automatically with mathematical and statistical methods from match data supplied by licensed sports-data providers. Nobody adjusts them by hand to favour a result, a team or a bookmaker.
  • A pick is published only when our probability clears the threshold published on the site, and before the match starts. It is never changed or removed afterwards.
  • Our track record shows every published pick, including every miss. It shows hit rates and calibration, never profit claims.
  • Bookmaker odds are shown for comparison only. We have no commercial relationship with any bookmaker, so no bookmaker can influence which odds or picks we show.

4.How our previews and reviews are written

  1. Facts first. For each match we assemble the public facts from our own data: fixtures, results, standings, team statistics, line-ups, injuries and expected goals. Previews do not use our predictions, value bets or bookmaker odds.
  2. Drafting. Automated writing software (Claude, provided by Anthropic) drafts the article from those facts only. It receives football data — never personal data about our users.
  3. Automatic checks. Every number and name in the draft is checked against the facts; drafts that fail the checks, or use wording our style rules forbid, are rejected.
  4. Human review. A member of our editorial team reads every article, can edit or reject it, and approves it before it is published. The editorial team takes responsibility for the published text.
  5. Translations. Articles are produced in English and then in our other languages in the same way, and reviewed before publication.

Features and opinion pieces are written by people.

5.Transparency about automated content

We tell you how our articles are made on this page. Every article we publish today has been reviewed and approved by our editorial team before publication. If we ever publish an article that has not been reviewed by an editor, it will say so clearly on the article itself: “This article was produced automatically from our match data and published without review by an editor.”

Some promotional videos use a computer-generated narration voice; those videos carry the label “AI voice”.

6.Independence and betting

We do not accept payment for coverage, and we have no links to or agreements with gambling operators. Our articles describe football; they are not betting tips and never promise a result. Nothing we publish is betting or financial advice — see our Terms of Service and our Responsible Gambling page.

7.Corrections

If you spot a mistake — a wrong score, name, date or statistic — please tell us at support@footballedge.io with the link to the page. We check every report. If something is wrong, we correct the article promptly and, where the correction changes the meaning, add a note at the end of the article saying what was corrected and when. Published picks and the track record are never edited after the match, even when they turned out wrong.
